The Royal Art Society of NSW is an independent not for profit gallery and art school in North Sydney which aims to promote and encourage appreciation of the visual arts. It was established in 1880. The Lavender Bay Gallery exhibits a high calibre of paintings and sculpture from both established and emerging artists. Exhibitions change regularly throughout the year ensuring a diverse range of traditional and contemporary works are on show. Paintings are available to purchase at reasonable prices. The Gallery has hosted most of Australia's leading artists, such as: Conder, Lambert, Long, Chapman, Lindsay, Heysen, Preston, Gruner, Ashton, Bunny, Rees, Meldrum and Fox to name a few.
