We all know we should take steps to live a healthier life. Changing health trends can make it difficult to keep up with what those steps should be. However, you can live a long and healthy life with a few simple steps. Here are 6 simple rules to incorporate into your life today. 

Exercise

Getting enough exercise is vital to maintaining a healthy life. The World Health Organization recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week. Exercise lowers mortality rates from all causes. It also helps heart health and is an important part of maintaining a healthy weight. Keep it moving to live your healthiest life. 

Diet

Eating the right foods is crucial to living a healthy life. Malnutrition leads to an increased risk of communicable diseases. On the far edge of eating excessively or the wrong things can also be bad.  A poor diet can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer, obesity, and diabetes. Eating a healthy diet of limited sugar, salt, and unhealthy saturated fats will help you live a long and healthy life. 1 in 2 Australians aged 18 and over 50% did not consume the recommended 2 serves of fruit, while over 93% did not consume the recommended 5 serves of vegetables while more than half of the American population is meeting or exceeding total grain and total protein foods recommendations.

Avoid processed foods and try to eat a nutritionally dense meal. When you eat the proper diet, your body functions better and is more healthy.  

Health check-ups

Getting annual check-ups is an important part of living a healthy life. Even the most health-conscious is at risk for illness. Hospital insurance covers coverage for hospital confinement due to illness, accidents & annual screenings in most cases. Health check-ups help you better understand what health risks are your biggest concerns. Knowing your cholesterol levels, your blood pressure, and your blood glucose levels are helpful to head off serious issues before they happen.

Rest

Resting in any event 7 hours every night makes a difference maintain health in adults. For children, the amount of sleep can be as much as 16 hours per day. Research shows that without the proper amount of sleep, the mind and the body suffer. Without enough sleep, you are more at risk for illness, your stress levels increase, and it is harder to concentrate. Take the time to schedule enough time for sleep to live your healthiest life. 

Fluids

Drinking enough water to stay hydrated is crucial to staying healthy. The body adult human body is sixty per cent of water. Blood is ninety per cent of water. We can only sustain life for 3 days without water. The body needs water for digestion, blood circulation, transportation of nutrients and heat regulation. For best health, drink at least half a gallon of water each day. A hydrated body is a healthier body. 

De-stress

Dealing with stress in your life can also have great benefits for living a healthy life. Stress is a piece of everybody's life, but how you deal with it can have a major impact on your health. People able to keep their stress levels balanced through self-care have lower risks of heart disease, heart attack, stroke, and ulcers. There are many ways to add self-care and stress management to your life. Yoga, music, hiking, a hot bath are all good examples of ways to lower stress levels. Stress management is a big part of living a healthier life. 

With a few steps, anyone can live a healthier life. It doesn’t have to be hard to do. Get enough exercise. Eat a diet high in nutritional value but low in salt, fat, and sugar. Get enough sleep each night. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. See your doctor for your annual medical check-ups to catch any problems early and deal with stress with healthy coping mechanisms. Use these six steps to be your healthiest you.
