The expanded offering, which applies to travel between June 12 and December 10, comes in response to a surge in demand for redemption seats.

In fact, 97 percent of members consider redemption seats their top choice for redeeming Points.

Velocity Frequent Flyer members will enjoy increased Reward Seat availability for both Economy and Business Class on flights between Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Doha. Economy fares start at 42,000 Points one-way (plus taxes, fees, and carrier charges), while the award-winning Business Class Qsuite is available from just 89,500 Points one-way (plus taxes, fees, and carrier charges).

Passengers flying with Qatar Airways can expect an exceptional travel experience aboard Boeing 777 aircraft. Business Class travellers can unwind in the luxurious Qsuite, while all passengers benefit from complimentary Starlink high-speed internet, the first of its kind in the world.

Beyond the onboard perks, travellers also gain access to seamless global connections through Doha’s Hamad International Airport, which has been recognised three times as Skytrax’s World’s Best Airport, named Best Airport in the Middle East for a decade, and awarded the World’s Best Airport for Shopping for the past two years.

Enhanced Virgin Australia Partnership with Qatar Airways

Virgin Australia’s enhanced partnership with Qatar Airways provides access to a wide range of destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. New services from Australia to Doha are scheduled to begin on the following dates, pending regulatory approval:

  • Sydney to Doha: June 12, 2025
  • Brisbane to Doha: June 19, 2025
  • Perth to Doha: June 26, 2025
  • Melbourne to Doha: December 1, 2025

Nick Rohrlach, CEO of Velocity Frequent Flyer, commented on the announcement, stating that it underscores the program’s commitment to offering great value rewards and outstanding travel experiences for its members.

“The tripling of Reward Seats available to our Velocity members between Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Doha means international travel is more accessible than ever,” Rohrlach said.

In addition to fantastic flight rewards, Velocity members can take advantage of a variety of travel options upon arrival, such as Brisbane fully furnished apartments. These accommodations offer a convenient, comfortable, and home-like environment for those visiting the city, whether for business or leisure.

“Whether it’s a bucket-list trip to Europe or a dream holiday in the Middle East, there’s never been a better time to be a Velocity Frequent Flyer.”

Onboard, passengers will enjoy a top-tier experience. Business Class travellers will experience the luxurious Qsuite, while all travellers will have complimentary access to Starlink, the world’s first ultra-high-speed, low-latency internet offered in-flight. Passengers will also enjoy seamless connections through one of the world’s best airports, Hamad International Airport.

“This is a big investment Virgin Australia is making to support its new flights for the European Summer. We also know this will drive greater member engagement with our program and our partners, which is key to the continued growth and success of Velocity,” Rohrlach added.
