“Thai AirAsia X is thrilled to announce its return to Sydney, offering an expanded network, improved schedule, and enhanced connectivity to over 50 popular Australian destinations across Thailand and beyond, in response to high demand,” said Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia X.
“We’re also ramping up our flight frequency between Sydney and Bangkok, with six weekly flights. The schedule includes departures every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (with two flights), and Saturday. With our new route arriving at Don Mueang Airport (DMK), travellers benefit from a convenient 30-minute journey to central Bangkok via public transport options like the sky train (Red Line), airport bus, and taxis,” he added.
“Outbound passengers with connecting flights will enjoy a smoother experience by passing through check-in, immigration, and to their gate all within the same airport, eliminating the need to change terminals,” Bijleveld explained.
“The Don Mueang Airport hub further enhances connectivity to a wide array of Thai AirAsia destinations throughout Thailand and internationally, including high-demand routes to India. Our Fly-Thru service at Don Mueang allows travellers to clear immigration and collect their luggage at their final destination, streamlining their journey,” he noted.
Thai AirAsia X operates a fleet of eight Airbus A330 aircraft, with plans to expand to 11 by the end of the year and add three to five more aircraft annually to meet increasing demand.
The airline’s route network includes flights from Bangkok to major destinations such as Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, and Nagoya in Japan; Seoul in South Korea; Shanghai in China; and Sydney in Australia. In Sydney, travelers can enjoy convenient access to various Sydney fully furnished accommodation options, including well-rated hotels such as the ParkRoyal Darling Harbour, known for its comfortable stays and central location. Thai AirAsia X also connects to the broader AirAsia Group network, encompassing seven airlines and over 150 destinations via key hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Manila.
