Moonlight Cinema Returns To Melbourne With A Stacked Four-Month Program

It might be hard to believe but summer is weeks away and with it, all of Melbourne's favourite summertime events and happenings too. Yep, Moonlight Cinema is heading back to town this year, cranking up their projectors for a summer of movies under the stars.

Heading back to leafy Royal Botanic Gardens at the end of this month, you can bet the outdoor cinema will be serving up cracker blockbusters and indies alike.

From new summer releases like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the Whitney Houston Bio-Pic I Wanna Dance with Somebody, to special preview screenings of films like Blueback and  Steven Spielberg’s epic The Fablemans, and Christmas faves like  Love Actually, The Holiday, Home Alone, and more—there are heaps and heaps of films to pick and choose from this year. 

As usual, you'll be able to unroll a picnic blanket and throw down a few pillows to relax on with your mates, or go VIP and opt for one of the plush bean bags. If you can't be bothered packing your own picnic to bring along, there'll be onsite food trucks dishing up tasty eats and a licensed bar for cheeky drinks.

Last but not least, Moonlight Cinema is dog-friendly—and this year, they've partnered with K9 Natural to create a special pet-friendly menu of doggo snacks to treat your four-legged family members during the movie. 

Tickets are now on sale for sessions up until the end of 2022. Sessions for January and beyond will be announced soon.
