Inside The $5k A Night Melbourne Hotel Room Used By Rich And Famous

What does $5000 a night get you at a five-star hotel? See inside the two-level hotel room in Melbourne booked by the rich and famous.

It's not often you walk into a hotel room and think, "Wow, this is even better than the pictures." But then again, it's also not often you have a staircase in your room and a Dyson hair dryer provided.

News.com.au explored a luxury penthouse this month that starts at $5000 a night, a space that has hosted Melbourne icons like Bec and Chris Judd, international celebrities, and one of Australia’s richest individuals.

Pullman Melbourne on the Park General Manager Stephan Leroy declined to reveal their names to maintain their privacy.

The William Clarke Sky Villa is hailed as “the jewel in the crown” of the hotel’s $40 million renovation.

This two-level penthouse underwent a 12-month renovation and was unveiled in June 2022.

A year later, in June last year, the five-star hotel elevated its luxury offerings once more.

Their new luxury ONE9 package commands $20,000 per night – but it accommodates up to 36 guests. Split evenly, that’s approximately $570 per person.

Inside the penthouse, the experience transcends the typical hotel ambience.

Upon entering the top floor, guests encounter an entryway that opens into a king bedroom complete with a work desk, walk-in robe, and a marble bathroom.

Notably, both the toilet and the freestanding spa bathtub offer views overlooking the MCG, enhancing the luxurious experience.

However, if you turn left at the entryway, a door leads to a staircase descending to another floor.

There, guests discover a spacious living and dining area, along with a study, concealed kitchen, and a second bathroom.

The windows on both levels, especially those overlooking the city skyline and Fitzroy Gardens to the right, resemble art hanging on the wall—a deliberate design by architects DKO. These specially designed windows feature metal shrouds that act like frames, enhancing the aesthetic appeal.

The views are a standout feature of the room, with even the large flat-screen TV in the bedroom designed to rise from a cabinet, visible only when desired.

Guests also enjoy access to the hotel’s gym, outdoor pool, and executive lounge, which offers pre-dinner canapes and drinks from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

A smart casual dress code is required at all times for the lounge, with guests advised not to wear sports attire, swimwear, thongs, or robes when entering.

If you're visiting Melbourne from interstate or overseas, Pullman Melbourne on the Park offers more than just breathtaking city views—it provides a true taste of Victoria.

The hotel's restaurant, The Cliveden, showcases local produce sourced from suppliers such as Meredith Dairy, Green Eggs, La Madre Bakery, and Andrew’s Choice Sausage. This commitment to local ingredients ensures guests experience the authentic flavours of the state during their stay.

At the buffet breakfast, set up like a market with various themed food stations, you’ll find fresh honey dripping straight from the honeycomb provided by Beechworth Honey.

Back in the penthouse, the natural soaps, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and bath soak are from Hunter Lab, a Melbourne-based brand.
