The New Museum for WA is being developed in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre.
It includes the redevelopment of the Western Australian Museum’s existing buildings and construction of a bold and contemporary building that frames and integrates with the stunning heritage-listed building.
The New Museum, scheduled to open in 2020, will share the stories of Western Australia’s people and places, acting as a gateway for visitors to explore the extraordinary history, distinctiveness, creativity and diversity of our State and region.
While construction is underway the WA Museum continues to deliver a range of exciting and dynamic exhibitions and programs at each of its five public museums in Fremantle, Albany, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
You can also find Museum collections and programs in a range of surprising and unusual places including the Perth Concert Hall and the new Discovery Zone in the State Library of WA.
