Old Blythewood is a historic farm house in Pinjarra. Purchased by John McLarty in 1856, the farm became one of the most successful in the area. Looking through the unsophisticated family home, you can discover the significant role the family played in developing the area. At the height of its success, the farm accommodated the local hotel and post office service. Comprising of a farmhouse and separate building which contains a kitchen and creamery, most of the antique furniture has been sourced from the local area. McLarty’s great grandsons generously donated the property to the National Trust. Explore the picturesque gardens and grounds of the farm which have been restored and are now immaculately kept. Old Blythewood is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Tickets can be booked through the official Old Blythewood website. Please check the official website before visiting, as the property may close for private bookings or weather conditions. The picturesque town of Pinjarra is one of the oldest in Western Australia.
