As a world class greyhound racing venue we host some of the sport’s premier events while offering the very best in patron - and greyhound - amenities and facilities.
The signature event - the TAB Melbourne Cup - is the world’s richest and most prestigious race and attracts visitors from around Australia and the world. Sandown pride themselves on the racing program the likes of which no other club can boast. Other races that are uniquely ‘Sandown’ including the Speed Star match race series, the Launching Pad sweepstakes event, and the four dog Shootout.
Greyhound welfare is at the forefront of all of thoughts. The club’s dedicated team of track curators is committed to ensuring a safe and fair racing surface at all times. They are keen supporters of the Greyhound Adoption Program and you can meet our retired stars every race meeting.
There is nothing quite like being at the track and seeing these magnificent animals in full flight. But do not take their word for it - see it for yourself every Thursday night and Sunday afternoon. At Sandown Park, they love the dogs.
