It’s also the terminus for one of Australia’s most amazing engineering feats - the Golden Pipeline - which has brought water, the most precious resource of all, to the Goldfields since 1903.
You can even follow this epic water pipeline on its 563-kilometre journey all the way from Mundaring Weir, in the Perth Hills, through the Wheatbelt to Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields. If you’re exploring Kalgoorlie on foot, it’s less than a 10-minute walk from the Museum of the Goldfields to reach Mount Charlotte.
