Perth Mess Hall is a unique event and function space blending historic charm with modern functionality. Originally a military drill hall, its heritage features— an expansive curved truss roof system, high ceilings, traditional wooden interior and timber beams—create a striking backdrop for a large range of corporate events, private celebrations, weddings, receptions and international concerts and events.

Located at the Old Swan Barracks, the complex, the venue was originally built in 1896. The building was a key installation in the city centre. Built as a military drill hall, it was once used as a space for former officers to commune and dine. It has been transformed into a premium and affordable grand hall. If you’re looking for a hall for hire, the venue really stands out for its ease of use, great value and great central location.

Perth Mess Hall offers multiple event spaces, each designed to accommodate different types of functions:

    • Drill Hall: The largest space, perfect for large-scale events, weddings, and concerts. Its open layout can be customised for theatre-style seating, banquets, cocktail gatherings or international concerts and events.

    • Other Function Rooms: The smaller rooms offer an intimate setting for workshops, corporate meetings, or private dinners. These spaces are ideal for gatherings that require privacy and focus while still benefiting from the venue’s historic ambience.

    Location and Accessibility

Located centrally in Perth, the venue offers excellent transport links, ample nearby parking, and proximity to accommodation options for guests. Its central location ensures convenience for both local and interstate attendees.
