The section of South Terrace from the corner of Bannister Street to Parry Street in Fremantle is renowned as the "Cappuccino Strip" for the many cafés and resident barista's that prepare an almost unending variety of coffee's.
It is the home of alfresco dining in Western Australia and the street is lined with restaurants, pubs and breweries including the famous Sail and Anchor and the award-winning The Monk Brewery and Kitchen.
At night and especially on the weekends, the Cappuccino Strip is the centre of Fremantle's entertainment precinct with hotels and clubs offering cabaret, open mic nights and live music until the early hours. If you have the energy, by the time you leave the clubs, the cafés will be open for a morning coffee.
At the northern end of the strip is the historic Fremantle Markets featuring more than 150 stalls offering fresh produce, tasty local treats, jewellery, souvenirs, fashion and home wares.
The Cappuccino Strip is a 5 minute walk from Fremantle Train station or stop number 2 on the free Blue Central Area Transit (CAT) bus.
