The Gallery of Small Things (GOST) is Canberra's tiniest gallery showcasing emerging and established artists in the Visual Arts. It is less than six metres square and is bringing international, interstate and local artists to a Canberra backyard. GOST is about makers and designers who love texture, form and all things fabulous and small.
Visitors will see works in ceramics, jewellery, mixed media, paintings, photography, print media, textiles and wood. For ten months of the year a stable of artists work is on show. We have group shows including an annual group show in Sept/Oct. The founder and director local ceramic artist Anne Masters is keen to promote emerging artist and graduates from art and design studies providing them with an excellent stepping-stone to showcase works alongside that of established artists in an intimate and supportive space. She also offers professional practices workshops for visual artists.
GOST is a hidden gem and allows visitors to experience art in the suburbs. With an artist's studio next door, gardens and veggie patches for children to run around in. It is a place for people to unplug from life's complexities and enjoy the smallest of beautiful simplicities.
The gallery adheres to ACT Government advice on social distancing. Groups of 3 or more must contact the owner prior to visiting in person.
