in.cube8r is a handmade mecca and emerging artist gallery which is home to more than 100 creatives who rent small cubes, shelves, racks and walls to exhibit their work and keep 100 per cent of every sale that is made. It is a retail environment where creatives come first. Cubes cost just a few dollars a day making the model accessible to even the most fledgeling makers. Many in.cube8r participants are parents of young children, retired people finally doing what they love, students, full-time artists and dabblers. Participants sell a diverse range of products including handcrafted jewellery, ceramics, clothing, accessories and fine-art prints. Their art-shows provide a place for supporters of the arts to experience works from Melbournes emerging tallent, with group shows and solo shows changing every two to three weeks. They also hold regular shopping nights and workshops. in.cube8r's ethos is all about supporting micro-businesses and thanks to the cube-rental system the variety of products available is second to none. Established in 2007 on Smith Street in the heart of Fitzroy Victoria, in.cube8r is expanding in 2019 to the southside suburb of Prahran to bring Melbournes makers to a new audience.
