Set off on a bushwalking adventure through Kalamunda National Park in the Perth Hills.
This is where the famous Bibbulmun Track starts – and then winds 1,000 kilometres south to Albany. The Bibbulmun Track is rated as one of Australia’s best hiking trails.
Walking trails in Kalamunda National Park take you along Peisse Brook and though forests timbered with marri, wandoo and jarrah.
Granite boulder outcrops are common, making the scenery particularly striking.
If you’re lucky you might see a kangaroo, echidna or bandicoot, while native birdlife thrives, making Kalamunda National Park a good place for bird watching.
The park is a short walk from the centre of Kalamunda Township, which is popular for its village atmosphere and monthly farmer’s markets.
Kalamunda National Park is located within the Darling Range, about a half an hour drive from Perth.
