The German Austrian Australian Club, Wodonga, is a community club providing social opportunities with a unique European style. The Bavarian beer hall is a wonderful venue with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone is most welcome to enjoy the Club's well stocked bar, great meals and generous hospitality.
Friday night happy hours are held weekly, offering drinks and delicious meals. German and Austrian beers are a specialty. Popular Sunday luncheons are held on the first and third Sundays of each month. Live local and international musicians regularly offer great entertainment. Musicians from Germany and Austria are especially welcomed for wonderful musical experiences. Oktoberfests and special cultural events are enjoyed throughout the year. Private functions such as weddings, wakes, parties, seminars and meetings are well catered for. Darts evenings are held weekly with keen competition.
The Club was formed in 1960 to provide social opportunities and fellowship for German and Austrian migrants. Nowadays children and grandchildren of original migrants, along with members of the local community, support the club to maintain this delightful and unique social venue, and to maintain links with the German and Austrian language, culture and heritage.
